Having developed a style of guitar playing influenced and informed by folk music, Kevin Fowley began performing as a solo act in 2017.
With a number of appearances at Irish festivals, including Body & Soul, and performances in his native Dublin, Fowley has captured listeners with his distinctive guitar style and literary lyrics that fall somewhere between poetry and prose, inciting comparisons to Nick Drake and John Martyn.
Kevin Fowley released his debut record, an EP titled Oh, Mongrel, via his own Fowl Play Records in late 2018. Ross Chaney (John Francis Flynn, Subplots) produced and arranged the record and features on a variety of instruments. Reviewing the title track, Folk Radio UK have said “we’re looking forward to hearing more from this refreshingly unique new talent”.
2020 will see Fowley back in the studio with his second release set for late autumn.
